Home School Fire Prevention Day
The Vischer Ferry Volunteer Fire Company is excited to extend our long-standing Fire Prevention education program to local homeschool families through our Home School Fire Prevention Day!
This special event is designed to give homeschool students the same valuable safety lessons we share each year with students in the Shenendehowa School District. Families will experience hands-on learning with our firefighters and explore important topics such as:
How and when to call 911
Safety around matches, lighters, and household hazards
Understanding a firefighter’s protective gear
Creating a home fire escape plan
The science of fire and the importance of prevention
Students will have the opportunity to meet real firefighters, see fire trucks and equipment up close, and take part in an age-appropriate fire safety lesson.
